WESA Scholarship for AWEA Students
Our Goal:
The Wind Energy Student Association (WESA) at Texas Tech University is proud to announce that we have selected Giulio Danino, Emily Johnson and Gavin Bigler to attend the 2017 American Wind Energy Association’s National Convention on May 22-25 in Anaheim, California. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to represent the WESA organization, Texas Tech University, and the Bachelors of Science in Wind Energy program to hundreds of the world’s largest renewable energy industry leaders and employers. Their attendance will help educate the industry of our degree program, the success of our student organization, and lead to many potential opportunities for internships and employment for all Wind Energy students.
The cost for the trip is $2,010 per student which consist of airfare, room and board, and the convention’s registration fees. WESA invites you to make any charitable donation you could to help us meet our goal of $6,030 for the total cost of the student’s attendance at the convention.
About WESA:
WESA was formed as an educational and service student organization for Wind Energy students. Every semester we host info sessions for our students in which we bring out alumni and industry professionals to speak on their experiences, companies, and their jobs within the industry. We also take field trips once a semester to an operating wind farms and Reese Technology Center to have a hands on learning experiences about the advancements within the industry. Additionally, we participate in various community service projects and volunteer opportunities within the Lubbock area.
