Western Reperfusion

Western Reperfusion is a volunteer healthcare program. We are passionate in preventative care for undeserved populations; particularly, Native Americans and rural communities with limited access to medical services. Our mission is to create a sustainable program that prevents peripheral vascular disease among the Native American population and rural communities. We collaborate with medical providers, educate and screen individuals at-risk for Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). 

Peripheral Arterial Disease often goes underdiagnosed and it occurs by the accumulation of fats, cholesterol, and other substances that build up in your arterial walls which restricts blood flow to the lower extremities. The beginning stages of the disease is asymptomatic; therefore, many individuals do not know they have PAD until damage occurs. A PAD screening can help someone know their vascular condition and the individual can prevent further harm by improving their diet, engaging in more exercise, and receiving medical treatment. Detection of the disease in the early stages can prevent severe PAD from occurring, which can result in amputation of the limb. The most common cause of limb amputation in the United States is due to PAD. 

Our screening device is non-invasive, portable, and a screening takes simply 10 minutes. The screening results are easy for patients to comprehend and understand their vascular condition. We work with medical clinics across Utah, Nevada, and Idaho to ensure at-risk patients receive a screening and can receive additional medical treatment if needed. We do this because of what it's worth for the patient; in this case, it's saving a limb and saving their life. Overall, we are grateful and appreciate your support in our effort to prevent amputations of limbs due to PAD in vulnerable populations across the Mountain West.
