“We are so used to seeing these absurd and offensive stereotypes about Asian men, whether it’s the comedic role with an exaggerated accent or the awkward computer/science nerd. We have been fed this image and idea that somehow Asian men are lesser than their non-Asian counterparts and undesirable. Through my own eyes and art, I find that ridiculous and unacceptable and want to break that stereotype.”
Background: I started photography in 2010, while living in San Francisco, USA. Since then I've been all over the world with my camera - chasing my dreams and capturing the moments along the way. I've worked for a variety of clients, including magazines, clothing brands, advertising firms, private clients and so on. When it comes to male models, I noticed early on that the US and western media have a very limited scope of beauty and I simply don't accept that - it's time to change! This book will be dedicated entirely to ASIAN males I have photographed internationally since I started. Strong, handsome, muscular, lean, masculine - this book will showcase a variety of Asian men from all over the world in an artistic and tasteful manner - a far cry from the cliché and stereotypical ways in which many Asian men are currently portrayed in our media.
This book will be a sort of 'best of' to show what I've amassed so far and how my style and art has evolved since the beginning. The book will include over 100 models from over 10 countries. In addition to some photos that are classic favorites, there will also be many never-before seen photos. Since I've had many, many requests about this in the past - yes, this book will also contain some artistic nudity.
