WFH Drama goes to WORLD COMPETITION
Great News!! Wake Forest High School's Drama Team Two, has advanced in the Odyssey of The Mind Tournament. This group of young actors are made up of four seniors and three Jrs. In this tournament the actors have to design their own sets, write their own scripts, make all costumes, practice creative thinking, in addition this amazing group has to set up and perform all under restrictions rules and time limit. This team has worked countless hours on this performance, all while they maintaining grades, working jobs, balancing theater roles, and family life. This past weekend in Monroe NC, Team Two came in Second Place overall in division III, and won a chance to go to Iowa State University to complete in the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS on May 25 2016.This a Once in a lifetime opportunity for these young actors.
What an amazing opportunity for these children to represent our school, town, and county at this event! The challenge now is finding their own funds for this team, their coaches, teacher, and chaperones to get to Iowa in May! All of the competitions, travel, lodging, ect. has been covered at the parents/students expense. We do not get any money from the school for these expenses. We will need to raise funds for registrations fees, travel, lodging, meals and transporting the set.
We are so Proud of our actors for earning the right at a chance to become world Champions. This is why we are reaching out to this amazing community to help these young actors realize the dream of competing against peers from all over the world!
Any form of support you can offer, would be thoroughly appreciated. 100% of the funds raised (outside of the gofundme cost) will be used to cover expenses as this team continues the quest of becoming World Champions!
Thank you for your support, it will mean the world to these 7 actors!
