Help Hannah Hohn get to China

After winning 4th place in the 2015 BEF Junior Nationals in Las Vegas Hannah Hohn has qualified for the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai, China (November 14th-17th 2015).

My name is Hannah Hohn. My dad bought a table when I was 12 and I have been playing pool ever since.  I joined a few of our local leagues in 2012  to try it out and I really enjoyed it. Now I play league four nights out of the week and still excell in school. In the spring/summer I play on the Ft. Randall 9-ball league and Mitchell 8-Ball Juniors league. Fall through spring I play on the Mitchell 8-ball league, Ft. Randall 8-ball traveling league, SDABA league, and the Moose Lodge pool league. All of the participants in those leagues are adults except for the Junior 8-ball league. Being a 12 year old kid and a new comer, I wasn't sure what to expect when joining these adult bar leagues.. But everyone has been very supportive of me playing with them in the leagues that they have been playing in for years.

In 2013, I participated in my first ever tournament playing against kids my own age. It was very different to play kids my own age and I didn't feel comfortable. The first friends that I had made were Canadians. I ended up taking fourth place...now every year I look forward to going back to the VNEA Junior Nationals to see all my friends. For the past three years I have participated and I will continue to do so. In 2014 I took 3rd and in 2015 I also took 3rd.

In 2014 I got enrolled in Anthony Beeler's Virtual Billiard Acadamy. Throughout the summer course I learned many new things and also decided to make a trip to Kentucky to have training with Anthony. He has also been a big support to my game and if you're interested in pool I recommend you take his class.

As of June; I have been sponsored by J. Pechauer Cues. This is a big honor to me to be part of the Pechauer team. I am very thankful for them and am excited to see what the future holds!

This July we decided to take a trip out to Vegas to play in the BCA Tournament. I played in the Women's Open and the Junior 9-ball challenge. I was the only junior from South Dakota and I was the top placing female in the Junior 9-ball challenge. Since I was the top placing female, that qualified me to play in the BEF Tournament. The BEF tournament was the following week, so we flew home for three days then came back out. I wasn't too for sure about how I would do in the BEF tournament because the tables were 9' Diamonds. In South Dakota there aren't many tournaments that play with Diamond tables in general, so this was all new to me.  All I have ever shot on were 7' Valley tables. After a few intense matches, I ended up placing 4th place in the Girls 18 and Under Division. I was then asked to go to  China to represent Team USA with other kids that had been asked as well. There are 5 girls and 7 boys going to represent the  USA. Out of 158 kids, I was the only one from South Dakota, so it was neat to be the only representative.  This whole thing was and is a huge shock to me because it was a last minute decision to fly back out to Las Vegas to even play in the BEF. I am very honored and surprised that I had been asked to go. It will be a very new experience playing in China and I am excited to see how it will go.

I would like to thank everyone that has helped me throughout my years. I am very thankful for my family, friends, teammates, D&E staff, and everyone that plays in the leagues that I participate in.
