We are Whatcom Teen Council.
Our mission is to empower, to educate and inspire those we know, including our peers, our families and our communities. We educate about human sexuality & healthy decision-making. We use our voices to advocate for just and humane sexual attitudes and policies.
This year in July, for the first time ever, we are taking our work to the federal level at a national Teen Council Summit in Washington D.C.!
We need YOUR help to get there. Raising just $1100 will make this possible...
Teen Council members are trained, passionate community advocates who are wholeheartedly committed to supporting the healthiest generation ever.
Teen Council's impact ripples throughout our communities--from large-group presentations that include topics such as sexual consent, healthy relationships, and family communication, to one-on-one peer-led sex-ed that exponentially changes lives, one chat at a time.
We also believe in the power of youth voice in the reproductive justice movement and, every year, we spend MLK Day weekend lobbying in Olympia for the world that we so believe in. Now, we're ready to take that fight all the way to DC!
The Teen Council Summit is a national youth conference that will connect Teen Council members from all over the United States for 4 days of workshops, leadership and advocacy.
With your support, Whatcom Teen Council will be offered an incredible chance to cultivate new skills, participate in democracy at the highest national level and bring back experiences that will shape our local advocacy for years to come!
