We are raising money to better the lives of less-fortunate people, through sport, by going on a 250km cycling trip around the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany!

Hello everyone! Eric Koksch, and Max Soliman have started this school project as the CAS element of our IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma. We are both very passionate about riding bikes, making the world a better place, and helping people who need it, but first…who are we?

Eric Koksch:

Birthdate: 18th October, 2001 (17 years old)

Height: 1.83cm (6′0′′)

Attributes: Creative, Athletic, Nature Loving

I learned how to write a bicycle when I was around the age of 4. Back then, my bicycle didn´t even have any pedals, but I pushed myself along happily. That enjoyment of bicycles declined when I moved from my home-country of Germany, to the United States of America (State of Florida) in 2011. The enjoyment of the weather, and an interest for various other activities such as skateboarding, and longboarding ruled my free time during the 5 years in Florida. When I moved back to Germany in 2015, I bought an entry-level mountain bike, because of the love that had been developing for Downhill, and Slopestyle mountain biking the couple months before. That love has grown exponentially in the last 4 years to make me what I am today, a bicycle fanatic! Riding street, and local trails on my 2018 Trailbike has been an almost daily occurrence for me the last number of years, and I don´t plan on stopping, but rather exploring other regions of the biking universe such as BMX, and road-biking.

Max Soliman:

Birthday: 10th February, 2002 (17 years old)

Height: 1.85cm (6′1′′)

Attributes: Strategic, Logical, Enjoys Overcoming Challenges

“I was scared beyond every limit, yet also as excited as I had ever been up to that point” effectively sums up my first experience when transferring from a, “LIKEaBIKE” to a real bicycle. An experience that I will never forget. Not only was the time when my parents originally let me go outside by myself the first moment where I truly felt free from the, “Real World”, but it ended up also generating the source of some of the best, and worst moments of my life! Countless adventures began unlocking for me, after finally learning how to ride a bike. In the past 12 years, I have ridden many different bikes, yet the one that I have been riding for the last two years has opened the most doors for me. Ever since, I have been steadily developing a passion for riding bikes off-road. Exploring the Apuan Alps in Italy, for example, has been one of the most wholesome experiences of my biking career! I am very certain that the future holds many exciting new biking experiences for me to enjoy, where ever I go.

Our combined interest for helping people, trying new things, and riding bikes has led us to try, and find a way in helping our community benefit from our passion. Without the CAS element of our IB Diploma, we wouldn´t have even thought of an idea such as going on a long cycling trip as high-school students to be possible! We are trying to prove that anything is achievable, but we can´t do it without YOUR help!

Every donation (with the help of the, “Tandem Stiftung Burkhard Zülow charity) will help improve the life of someone in our local community through sport, who can´t help themselves.

So, what are you waiting for? Donate today! :)
