Wilbert Harris-McCalister's Funeral
Donation protected
Wilbert was taken from the world too soon to what claims the lives of too many Black boys. The violence that plagues our communities and consumes the lives of our youth, has claimed the life of my nephew at 19 years old. My heart is heavy, as we have never experienced such a loss to our lives before. Wilbert had a good heart, but had his opportunity at life cut short.
As a child he was involved in athletics where he found joy in sports such as football, baseball, and basketball, where he experienced traveling with the Minnesota Twins to San Diego, California for a 8 day clinical, and playing football for the Burbank Titans in Illinois. As a senior in high school he served as a mentor to a third grade boy attending J.J. Hill Montessori. He graduated H.S. this past June 2018 and was registered to take classes this fall at Saint Paul Technical College. Wilbert loved to spend time with his family, especially his siblings and cousins.
A "mama's boy" to his core, he was her baby, our baby; loving uncle and friend. The impact his death has already had and will no doubt continue to have on our family as a whole is tremendous. The funds are being raised to take care of his home going services, his untimely death deserves to be handled the best that we can provide. We ask for your prayers no matter what, for family and friends who are shaken by this traumatic event. He will be greatly missed.
