Wildlife Waystation Fire Relief

Donation protected
Dear Friends of Wildlife Waystation:

The animals of Wildlife Waystation, a sanctuary which is home to over 400 exotic and wild animals, had an emergency crisis as the sanctuary experienced one of the largest evacuations in their 40 years of existence...
The Sand fire and its wall of blazing flames measuring at over 100 feet raced towards the sanctuary, causing immediate evacuation of the animals from their home. Despite the dangers associated with this extreme fire event, we are grateful to our community who has offered an outpouring of support for our staff and volunteers while they were sedating comforting, crating and transporting Wildlife Waystation’s lions, tigers, bears, hyenas, and primates, to name just a few, out of harm's way.

As ash finally stopped falling on the sanctuary grounds, thick smoke hung in the distance as the raging Sand Fire was close by.  A change in wind could have caused the 160 acre sanctuary at Wildlife Waystation to be destroyed. Once we received notification that it was safe to bring all our frightened animals back home, the replenishing of supplies and making sure their environments were safe was imperative and our top priority...and also very costly. We spent an enormous amount of resources to closely monitor, feed, water and medicate our animals at their temporary rescue sites. As well as expending thousands of gallons of our water to fight the fire. We need your help.  Just as the community came together to help us quickly move our animals to safety, we cannot do this part without your support either.

Please make a donation today which will ensure restoration of safe sanctuary for our lions, tigers, chimps, bears, wolves and so many other exotic and native species that were ripped from their home.  Your generous dollars will also help us cover all the unpredicted expenses of our emergency evacuation off-site temporary safe places and our continuation of emergency preparedness.

If you have not already, please do follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and on our website.  Stay connected for updates and to learn more about all of our amazing rescued animals who call Wildlife Waystation home.

THANK YOU!
