Late in the evening, on Friday June 17, 2017, two days before Fathers Day Willie Otis Greer died in an arson fire. Otis, as we call him, had worked long hours that day, according to his brother. He was most likely taking a short nap, not aware of the events that were taking place outside.
Some witnesses, watched and videoed the incident, not knowing that what they witnessed would result in the death of this father. Otis three children, two daughters and a son could not believe what had happened to their dad.
The arson caused his death and the injury of a firefighter was apparently started by a raged woman, for reasons unaffiliated with Otis. His daughters who live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his son who lives in Georgia are thankful for the young men who attempted to enter the burning house to save their dad. The efforts to rescue him can be heard in the YouTube and Facebook videos that were posted.
His children are saddened by this tragic event. It has not only caused emotional suffering for them, they now have to pay for funeral services and others unforeseen expenses. Please help them as they prepare lay their dad to rest.
The family appreciates all donations.
