Wilson County TN Disaster Animal Response Team
Donation protected
On January 19, 2019 the Wilson County Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) was called in to assist Macon County officials with the removal of 38 huskies from deplorable conditions. Team members worked for hours in the rain and in pitch black. Muddy conditions prevented vehicles from getting close to the scene so team members and to make many trips back and forth in the dark to carry each dog to safety.
The dogs are now in their first stages of their new life being cared for in a secure location and will remain there until they can be transported to a number of rescue groups.
DART needs funds to feed and care for these animals and replace and purchase items needed for future deployments. No contribution is too small and every dollar will be put to good use. Wilson County DART is made up of 100% volunteers, no one receives a salary and most of our expenses are self funded.
