Dear Friend,
“It only takes a moment to give that spark to a kid” – Doug Wimbish
YOU can be the spark that ignites the power of music and creativity to a student in need. How? By supporting the 2018 WimBash New Haven Music Festival - It’s that simple.
For over 14 years’ Grammy nominee, and visionary Doug Wimbish (Living Colour, Sugar Hill Gang, The Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox, and Madonna, just to name a few) has bestowed the passion, culture, integrity, and soul of music to thousands of students in need through the WimBash Music Festival Series.
The WimBash New Haven Music Festival will take place on August 18, 2018, at New Haven’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park at Long Wharf, and will benefit New Haven Public Schools, but only with your support. The line-up includes Living Colour's Corey Glover, Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish and The Brandon "Taz" Niederauer Experience.
The value of the arts in education is something that Doug Wimbish and all of us of the WimBash Music Festival Series takes very seriously. We feel that every child deserves the chance to play a musical instrument. In fact, studies have shown that it makes kids smarter, improves the quality of their education, and helps to teach them the skills necessary for success later in life.
In times when instrumental music programs are shrinking and being threatened due to budget constraints, we need your help now more than ever. Please be a hero today, and support the gift of music by making a tax-deductible donation to the 2018 WimBash New Haven Music Festival through Westie Cares. And please accept the sincerest thanks from Doug, the WimBash Committee, volunteers and the students it supports.
Please make a tax-deductible gift today!
With warm thanks,
Doug Wimbish
Founder and President
