Special Olympics Winter World Games
Tax deductible
In just a few weeks, a team of incredible athletes will travel to Austria to compete at the Special Olympics World Games 2017!
Please help me in raising funds for the Special Olympics so it can continue its mission to make a difference for AMAZING athletes like Raya and Daina this year and in years to come!
I hope you'll support their dreams by donating to this campaign and sharing it with your friends and family!
RAYA AL HASANY, OMAN, SNOWSHOEING
Special Olympics Oman is sending female athletes to the World Winter Games for the first time, and Raya is determined to make her country proud.
Since training in winter sports can be challenging in Oman, Raya practiced by strapping on her snowshoes and running on the sand – a lot.
Raya says Special Olympics coaches and volunteers have become a "second family" to her!
DAINA SHILTS, USA (WISCONSIN), SNOWBOARDING
Daina Shilts from the USA is an athlete leader who makes a point to share how important the Special Olympics is. She says, “Special Olympics has taught me --and other people -- that it's okay to be different."
An advanced snowboarder, Daina is aiming for gold this year -- both at the 2017 X-Games in Aspen and the 2017 World Games in Austria.
She says sports have challenged her to try things she would never have done otherwise. She adds, “Sports have also helped me to decide my future goals in career choices – I want to help other children like I’ve been helped through Special Olympics.”
