The world is full of women of wisdom. The Women Awakening Project offers a space in which their light can shine and their truth can stand, inspiring us all to move in life with more softness, care and presence.

ABOUT ME

My name is Erica Bassani, I'm an Italian author and I believe the most important face of life is the one that lies unseen, the one that invites us to enquire and dive deeper in our mistery.

I met the Theravada Buddhist Tradition at 20 years old, and lived one year in a Buddhist monastery of the Thai Forest tradition.

In 2024, my life suddenly changed course and led me down a path I never imagined I would take: in search for women spiritual leaders and teachers. Their wisdom saved me and showed me a new way of living. Sharing their wisdom has become my mission.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The first outcome of this beautiful search is the book "Donne che esplorano il divino" which has been published in Italy and that will be published in America by Shambala Publications next year. You can find the book on Amazon, here.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The second outcome of this search is the Women Awakening Project, a digital platform that gathers women's talks and sharing on the depths of human experience, the fragrances of taking care of life and the power of love. Some of the video interviews are available to watch on our YouTube Channel. It is not only a space to amplify women's voices-that have been historically silenced-but also an occasion to heal the profound sickness of the world by bringing in a new perspective based on inclusion of spiritual diversity.

Researching, contacting, travelling towards and interviewing them is a way to bring benefit for everyone. I hope that they can help you and inspire you as they did to me.

In 2024, I interviewed around 50 spiritual teachers and leaders in 3 different continents. The amount of beauty and joy that results from this interactions is really astonishing and I'm now confident in saying that it's an elixir for the modern world. By helping the Women Awakening Project, you will help in the spreading of women's wisdom across the globe.

When I launched the project last year, I set the goal of 10.000 euros to cover costs of:

-Video Tours travels and accomodations

-Technical equipment (audio and video recording tools)

-Video Making and editing

-Investment into building an online platform

In 2024 we gathered 3500 euros from 49 donors. Thank you all so much for your kindness that allowed the realization of the video tours in India, France and America.

To reach our goal, realize new video tours and invest in the project development, we still need 6500 euros.

For 2025, the Women Awakening Project has very audacious goals in mind. Far distant destinations and new unexplored traditions. A long list of female spiritual leaders and teachers!

But first, we need to work on all the videos done in 2024 and publish them. Hundreds of hours of video editing are ahead of me! To make this process more functional, I need the help of a video editor.

The price for editing these interviews is 200 euros per interview.

So, at least 2000 euros are needed to get the videoediting going in the next few months. Your help in this regard would be much appreciated!

NEXT TRIP

Soon, I'd love to dive once again in India. Looking for women spiritual masters in India is often a challenging experience but it offers a type of spirituality, sometimes more mystical and original, that is so precious to contact. Il mondo è pieno di donne di saggezza. Il Women Awakening Project offre uno spazio in cui la loro luce può brillare e la loro verità può emergere, ispirandoci tutti a muoverci nella vita con maggiore dolcezza, cura e presenza.

CHI SONO

Mi chiamo Erica Bassani, sono un'autrice italiana e credo che il volto più importante della vita sia quello che rimane invisibile, quello che ci invita a indagare e a immergerci più a fondo nel nostro mistero.

Ho incontrato la Tradizione Buddhista Theravada a 20 anni e ho vissuto per un anno in un monastero buddhista della tradizione della Foresta Thai.

Nel 2024, la mia vita ha cambiato rotta all'improvviso e mi ha portato su un sentiero che non avrei mai immaginato di percorrere: alla ricerca di donne spirituali, leader e insegnanti, di diverse tradizioni. La loro saggezza mi ha salvato e mi ha mostrato un nuovo modo di vivere. Condividere la loro saggezza è diventata la mia missione.

Il primo risultato di questa bellissima ricerca è il libro "Donne che esplorano il divino", pubblicato in Italia e che sarà pubblicato in America dalla Shambala Publications il prossimo anno. Puoi trovare il libro su Amazon, qui.

IL PROGETTO

Il secondo risultato di questa ricerca è il Women Awakening Project, una piattaforma digitale che raccoglie conversazioni e condivisioni di donne sulle profondità dell'esperienza umana, le fragranze della cura della vita e il potere dell'amore. Alcune delle interviste video sono disponibili per la visione sul nostro Canale YouTube. Non è solo uno spazio per amplificare le voci delle donne—che sono state storicamente silenziate—ma anche un’occasione per guarire la profonda malattia del mondo contemporaneo portando una nuova prospettiva basata sulla consapevolezza e sull'inclusione delle diversità, inclusa quella spirituale.

Ricercare, contattare, viaggiare verso e intervistare queste donne è un modo per portare beneficio a tutti. Spero che possano aiutarti e ispirarti come hanno fatto con me.

Per il 2025, il Women Awakening Project ha in mente obiettivi molto audaci. Destinazioni lontane e nuove tradizioni inesplorate. Una lunga lista di donne leader spirituali e insegnanti!

Ma prima di andare avanti, dobbiamo completare il montaggio e la pubblicazione di tutti i video realizzati nel 2024. Questo significa che mi aspettano centinaia di ore di montaggio video! Per rendere il processo più efficiente, ho bisogno dell’aiuto di un video editor.

Il costo per il montaggio di ogni intervista è di 200 euro. Quindi, sono necessari almeno 2000 euro nei prossimi mesi per il processo di montaggio. Il tuo contributo in questo senso sarebbe davvero molto apprezzato!

Prossimamente, mi piacerebbe immergermi ancora una volta in India. Cercare maestre spirituali in India è spesso un'esperienza impegnativa, ma offre un tipo di spiritualità, a volte più mistica e originale, che è così preziosa da poter essere toccata.
