Wright B Flyer Look-a-like Aircraft
Spende geschützt
We're building a new airplane in the original Wright factory hangar!
Become a part of aviation history and help us build a new Wright B Flyer. The Wright “B” Flyer Inc. is an all-volunteer, membership-based, not-for-profit corporation located on the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport near Dayton, Ohio. We support the national aviation historical environment by providing the public an experience not available anywhere else in the world: a flight in a representative airplane that the Wright Brothers flew in 1911, the first production airplane. We fly one Wright B Model look-alike aircraft which is over 30 years old and is becoming more difficult to maintain. To permit us to extend our mission world-wide and to fly safely into the future we have started construction on a replacement aircraft and are raising money to complete construction. We plan to complete construction of our new aircraft in the original Wright Airplane Company hangar where the Wright Brothers originally produced their Model B aircraft! We have a benefactor who has pledged a matching donation of $50,000 if we meet our goal. Our mission is to promote, through exhibition of Wright “B” Flyer look-alike aircraft, public awareness of the Dayton, Ohio region, where the Wright Brothers lived, invented the airplane, and gave birth to modern aviation. Your donation will provide design and procurement of parts and assemblies of the new airplane, and support our mission and enable us to promote the birth of aviation to a worldwide audience.
