RELIEF BRIGADE FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Donation protected
Bohio Of Atabei
Has formed a Relief Brigade that will be going to Puerto Rico to help our people. Our focus will be the elders as well as those among our people who have small children, and/or need the most help.
Our community is small, and except for a few, our people live mostly in small groups along the central mountain range and Toro Negro Forest, but we know where they are and how to reach them. This area has been severely impacted by the Hurricane and many still have not received any aid.
Our Relief Brigade will be offering hands-on cleanup and working on mold removal. We will be distributing supplies such as food, water, water purification tablets, straws, blankets, one change of clothes, cloth diapers for infants and toddlers; and items that can help our elders such as antibacterial wipes, incontinence pads, canes, solar lanterns, solar flashlights, solar crank radios, solar phone chargers, first aid kits, insect repellant, and whistles (to attract the attention of emergency personnel).
We will also be giving cash since ATMs and banks are not functioning in most of the central mountain range.
Our crew has two nurses to evaluate elders who may need medical assistance and we will provide transportation to the appropriate clinic or hospital for proper medical attention.
We also will help with making sure they can get required prescribed medications as well contact their families.
We are asking for your help to get this mission going.
Thank You. In the Spirit of Our Ancestors Bohio Atabei Taino Women's Circle
