Whipple's Wunderkinds

Dream big or go home! Well I'm not ready to go home. I am a teacher and my kids are wunderkinds. A wunderkind is a person who achieves great success, relatively young. I am a proud English teacher at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, GA. We are a Title 1 school and for many of my students the digital divide is very real. Many students do not have access to computers outside of school and it is a battle between teachers to reserve laptops and lab space for our classes. Frankly, my students deserve better and I am asking your help.
I would like to purchase 30 laptops and a charging station to assist my students in writing papers, engaging in online disucssions, competing in digital escape rooms, afterschool tutoring and maybe learning how to type along the way. I have the pleasure and honor of working with bright, intelligent, and eager young minds every day. They simply need an opportunity and the tools to be successful.
It would be my personal goal to raise enough money to have laptops ready for the beginning of next school year by August 2018. However, I am practical enough to know that this may take a bit longer. As soon as there is enough funds for 5 Laptops, I will purchase them. This will allow students to use them in small groups for various tasks and activities. I will continue to do this until the goal is met!
Teaching is what I was born to do. I love engaging with students, helping them think critically and learn new things. Having access to technology on a daily basis in my classroom will go a long way in helping to develop the leaders and citizens of tomorrow. Children really are the future, and I am iniviting you to make an investment in that future today!
