Elevate Life Mexico Missions Trip

Great News! as stated on the initial post that remission is near...its not only near. Its hear! On January 23rd, 2016 I was told Daniel is in remision once again! thank you for all of your prayers, phone calls, texts, emails. This has been a difficult journey to say the least.  So now, the next step is evaluations and treatment to prepare for his bone marrow transplant.  Many of you asked if a donor has been found.  Matches have been found but, intense screening must happen before we find the perfect donor.   Here is somewhat of a recap of what I shared prior to the amazing news. However, there are some changes given the recent develpment. Recent updates are highlighted.

Daniel, like most  nine year old boys likes to play, loves basketball, loves to swim and believe it or not loves school. Unlike most nine year old boys, . He was born premature at 24 weeks, which is 6 months. He weighed 1. Lb 14 oz. Daniel has Down Syndrome.  At three years old, May 2010 Daniel was diagnosed with ALL leukemia.   Our lives as we knew it had changed.  Through the grace of God, Daniel was in remission 4 weeks later. However, we spent several months in the hospital due to infections.  Daniel endured 3 years of chemotherapy.  August, 2013 Daniel completed 3 years of treatment. We were done with chemotherapy, so we thought.  Daniel relapsed two months later  again God blessed us with another miracle, he was in remission 4 weeks later. This past August 2015 I received an alarming call from his teacher, Daniel had a fever, and did not feel well.  He was immediately admitted to Kaiser children's unit in Roseville, Ca. He was diagnosed with a severe fungus infection in his lungs.  It gets worse, after a series of testing I was told Daniel relapsed for a second time and this time the doctors had little hope.  The only hope was a bone marrow transplant. He was not responding to treatment quick enough and he could not have a transplant until he was in remission thank God, a bone marrow transplant is now on the table.    We are going to relocate to City of Hope in Duarte California for three to four months depending our how he recovers. Fairly recently, I was told that the first 120 days are intense and crucial and I must be with Daniel at all times.   After the 120, I hope and pray his recovery will be smooth with minimal side effects, however I was told  to prepare for 24/7 care as well.  With that said, not knowing how much time I will need to take off of work and how much sick time  will cover my time off.  I am asking for addtional financial assistance.   As a single mother,  I am the sole provider and I don't know how long I will be off of work. I still need to maintain my household, bills need to get paid.  I need to cover some cost of food and transportation while I am gone.  Like every parent, I want to have the opportunity to stay with my son as he recovers, as long as I am financially able to.  i am praying that I will not have a financial burden.  We are a one person income household.  i humbly ask each of you to donate to our fund,  Any amount big or small is appreciated.  I also ask if each of you can share this link and help me spread the word.   God bless, love The Labrado's.
