A BED TO DREAM A BETTER FUTURE
Hi everyone, we’re Anna and Roberto and together with all of you we’d like to help some friends that we actually never met:
In Indonesia, in the area of Atambua, the majority of kids can’t even have a safe place to live.
Grains of Light (Italy) is a catholic association that’s present in that area and has been supporting for some years the building of places where needy kids can live and receive education.
We’re asking your help to finish one of this dorms for kids which is already built but has no beds, closets or showers yet.
The Franciscan Handmaids of Mary in Florence (Italy) currently host around 100 middle and high school girls between 13 and 18 years old. Thanks to the Sisters, these girls have hopes for a better future, far from poverty and disease.
Every day these girls wake up at 4am, they attend the Holy Mass and then go to school. After school they have to prepare lunch using oil stoves, to take out water from the well to wash their dishes or clothes on the bare floor.
The dorms where they sleep in have partially been set up by the Sisters but they need some more work. New beds and mattresses are urgently needed for the girls to sleep well after such hard studying and working days.
Bunk beds with suitable mosquito nets could let the girls sleep quietly as they need to, and avoid the malaria threat which is always lurking in those areas.
