Hello. My name is Selina Arreola. I am 20 years old, I am a preschool teacher and a volunteer softball coach to a group of amazing girls. Although this is my first year coaching I have played softball since I was five years old. I have always LOVED the game.
I help coach this amazing team of girls with two great coaches Brad and Scott , they are the Dads to two of our players. The team manager is Paul Arreola my Dad. We do not have a player on the team we just love the sport.
My Dad has been volunteering his time for years. He loves it so much that I thought it would be nice to coach a team with him this year. I have to say I'm "LOVING IT". These girls are so awesome.
These girls show up and give 110% EVERY NIGHT for practice and EVERY WEEKEND for tournaments. Being a softball player myself for many years I understand what a commitment and how time consuming it is when you take on a sport and as much as you love that sport it's hard to give up certain things. But they do it. They show up with smiles on their faces and they play hard.
I try and bring a balance to the team of hard work , dedication and team camaraderie mixed in with some FUN.. This is a great bunch of girls with good work ethics and dedication. I love being part of this team. Our team has participated in four tournaments so far and have won two of those. I am so proud of them. Each weekend is a new tournament for the next few weeks.
Every team has a goal. Ours is to participate in the State and National Tournaments. Our team will be eligible for the State tournament which will be hosted in Lancaster, CA. and then the ASA Nationals which will be hosted in Prescott , AZ. Not only do youth sports take up most of your time it also takes up most of your money. As a team unit we have hosted bake sales and other fund- raisers that have helped lower the beginning costs of our sport , but we now need some help from all of you to get us to the next level..
I am asking everyone who can to help us raise money to lower the team expenses so that it will be possible for our team to accept the invitations to these tournaments. The team has worked so hard to get here I would hate for them to not be able to participate just for the lack of funds. All funds raised will be uesd towrads team costs .
