My name is Marsha Loritz and I'm the daughter to missing Victoria Prokopovitz, who went missing almost 3 years ago from her home in Pittsfield, WI.
I wrote to Governor Scott Walker back in January, and he has again granted a proclamation making April Missing Persons Awareness Month for the second consecutive year.
I'm very excited that I have teamed up with Lamar Advertising and the Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers and we have kicked off an Awareness Billboard Campaign, showcasing Wisconsin's missing persons on electronic billboards for the month of April.
The campaign will be on 25 billboards throught Northeast Wisconsin and the Milwaukee area and will feature 25 of Wisconsin's Missing Persons per week. These billboards will be seen more than 20,000,000 times during the month of April!
This will make a huge impact and bring much needed awareness! This is not only important for me, but to all the missing and their families!
Lamar Advertising partnered with us, donating the 2016 billboards, but we need to raise the money for next year's billboards and are hoping to add photos.
We need your help to raise the money for the 2017 billboards! Some of these people have been missing for decades and they should not be forgotten!
These billboards will make such a huge imapct! Not only will they raise awareness, but they just might reach the person that knows something in one or more of these cases and bring answers that these families have so desperately been searching for!!
This is beyond personal for me. I have learned so much about the world of hte missing while searching for my mom, while discovering a passion to help others. Prevention and awarness are something we need to help the missing and their familes.
The next time you see a missing persons poster, stop and think... what if this was my loved one? What would you do?
