David Gerber, a disabled vet and Domino's Pizza driver, was making a regular Saturday night delivery, when the situation turned tragic. Two sixteen year olds gang members were waiting for him in a vacant house and pulled guns when he arrived. One teenager shot, missing David by inches. The driver returned fire, hitting and killing one of the robbers, Wayne Delaney Osborne. The second criminal was caught, arrested and confessed to the crimes. David has been suspended by Domino's.
David Gerber is a military veteran and community volunteer, who has been patiently waiting for approval of his disability benefit rating increase by the VA (for multiple medical issues). He was medically discharged from the Air Force. His most recent surgery was in April 2017. In order to to pay the basic household expenses, he took this delivery job on a part time basis, in spite of his pain and limitations. Now that this income has stopped, he is almost completely tapped out.
