Andrea's Healing Fund

Andrea Sesack is the most loving daughter, sister, friend, you could ever ask for!  She is an active person and loves being outdoors.  She has traveled the past several years living in West Virginia, Colorado, Texas, and now back home in Western PA.  She has made many friends and has touched so many lives.  She devotes her Sundays to God.  She currently works as a Food Service Manager at Altoona Area School District.

Andrea has been experiencing abdominal pain for quite some time and was always searching for answers as to what was wrong.  Finally, when the pain seemed unbearable, Andrea went to Conemaugh Hospital’s Emergency Room (Johnstown, PA) where they performed an abdominal CT scan and found a cluster of tumors on her ovaries.  They referred her to a specialist at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  There were many questions that would remain unanswered until her West Penn oncologist operated.  On January 24, Andrea had surgery and the surgeon was forced to remove all of her reproductive organs.  The surgeon also burned small tumors off of Andrea’s diaphragm and bladder.  At this time, the doctors are very hopeful that they removed all the cancer but Andrea still has a very long road ahead of her.  The surgeon said that this is very serious advanced staged Ovarian Cancer and she will require aggressive chemotherapy in 4-6 weeks once she recovers from her surgery.

Anyone that knows Andrea knows how she would do anything to help those around her. She remains optimistic and has been extremely positive throughout this whole process and is happy to finally have some answers to the pain she has been experiencing. Andrea is strong in her faith and believes in God’s will.  This fund was created to help Andrea ease the burden of any medical costs she will accrue, involving medical bills, hospital stays, chemotherapy, lost wages, and any unforeseen financial setbacks that may occur during her treatments and God willing her recovery. The best treatment for her is in Pittsburgh so there will be a lot of travel back and forth between Johnstown and Pittsburgh while Andrea is receiving treatments.
