Hi I'm Charley Layton, a cross disciplinary performer (musician, actor, voiceover artist, speech teacher, etc.) living in Harlem. I am creating a podcast from scratch dedicated to the life and times of struggling artists in NYC. Because of rent hikes, income inequality, and the exorbitant cost of living, many artists here are forced to either compromise their life's passion for survival jobs, leave the city entirely, or suffer poverty for their art.
My podcast is dedicated to raising awareness, cultivating appreciation, and lending encouragement to artists (i.e. fine artists, performers, entertainers, etc.) both in New York City and abroad.
Funds generated will go to production costs, equipment upgrades, editing, promotions and advertising, website development, and employee wages. Once those basic needs are met, extra funds will go toward the ultimate goal: paying artists for their work!
