Yard 48- Atlantic City Urban Green Space

Donation protected
For Atlantic City By Atlantic City is Crowdfunding money to purchase 8 shipping containers for Atlantic City's First Urban Green Space.

What is Yard 48?
Yard 48 is a redevelopment project based in the Ducktown Tourism District of Atlantic City. 4ACxAC intends to redevelop a underutilized plot of land and transform it into a community driven Green Space.

Here is how we will do it:
In March of 2019 4ACxAC is expected to acquire land that we intend to transform thanks to the support of the CRDA.  We will start the process by transforming the lot into an Urban Green Space by planting gardens, trees, and repurposing recyclable materials into benches, tables, firepits and solar powered charging stations.

Yard 48 will act as an incubator for local businesses. Once we have met our fundraising goals 4ACxAC will purchase 8 used shipping containers and transform them into food vending outlets, kinda like this one.

How does this help businesses?
4ACxAC will offer leases to local businesses to extend their craft to these containers. We will also offer to entry level food service professionals the opportunity to rent a fully equipped remodeled container for a season to test their concept before embarking into a risky expensive investment that is a brick and mortar. This allows for ambitious professionals to start their concept with low overhead, low capital and all the facilities needed to run a proper food service business.

Community:
The real pride and joy of Yard 48 is our community engagement. We are first and foremost here to serve our community. In 2020 we will open Willow Garden, a 2,000 square  foot Greenhouse using multiple growing techniques, from hydro to aeroponics. Willow Garden will supply Yard 48 with fresh produce while allowing us to offer fresh, locally grown produce to our community at absolutely no charge. Thats right, Yard 48 will be battling one of the biggest problems we face in Atlantic City, hunger.

Lets recap:
Yard 48 is a community driven incubator for local businesses to succeed and we are also fighting hunger. Got it!

Education:
Yard 48 will act as an education center for after school programs, families, and individuals who take interest in learning where their food actually comes from and the process in which it is grown.

We have something for everyone!
Yard 48 is a place for families, students, locals, tourists, everyone is welcome at Yard 48, the best part is, you don't even have to buy anything! Yard 48 is a public park open to all, students from Stockton, ACCC, ACHS can come do homework, read a book, listen to music play games. Families can come bring their kids to Willow Garden to learn about where food comes from and how we use green energy to power the greenhouse. Locals and tourists alike can come and grub on one of our 5 food venders and enjoy a craft beer from the Garage Bar while hanging out by the firepit watching a movie on our 96' movie screen.
