"Weeping Willow" book Publishing

"Long, long ago - - long before there were people, long before there were dinosaurs - - long before there were cars and convenience stores -- there were the Trees.  And the trees were all green.  They were green and they were happy.  They were green, they were happy - ALL of them......except the Weeping Willow."

And so begins the story of the Weeping Willow's desire to get what he wants - colors in his leaves.  Through his whining, crying, moaning, groaning and complaining, those who read this story will learn that getting what you want can have losses and consequences, but the greatest lesson is appreciating what you do have.

"The Weeping Willow, or, Why the Leaves Change Their Colors" is my original story that, as a professional storyteller, has been one of my most requested and performed stories.  Several times a year, after I present it, parents will ask me "Where is the book, Ms. Sheila?"  Well, it's HERE!  Linda Sturm, a wonderful illustrator, took my stories words, feelings and emotions and saw the vision of the Weeping Willow and all the additional characters.  Through much collaboration, and insightful librarian, artist and child editors, the "Weeping Willow" is now ready for children to read, for parents to read to children and for teachers to use while teaching character education.

The words have been written and edited.  The illustrations are complete.  Now is the time to publish and this is where your help is needed.  The amount raised will publish "Weeping Willow", which will include an audio CD of me telling the story.  Also I will publish my small historical fiction and biblical-based chapbook, "David's Mighty Man:  Benaiah", and print promotional materials for both books.

Each donation level is also a pre-order of both books, which will be mailed to persons by November 5, 2015.  There are also additional gifts at each donation level, including me providing a House Concert or 2 one-hour programs for the school of your choice.

Please help bring this story of want, consequences and, ultimately, friendship, to fruition in book form.  Some would call this a parable, and it can be, but mostly, it's been a story from my heart gifted to me from God.

To God be the Glory!
