Support Janis' Dance Dream!

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters of the Performing Arts,

Welcome to my page.  My name is Janis A. Bady.  I'm 12 years old, and I love to dance!  I’ve earned the amazing opportunity to dance at The Alvin Ailey School in New York City during the summer of 2019!!  I am so honored to be picked from hundreds of dancers who auditioned in cities across the country!

Being a part of the Ailey program is a dream come true for me!  When I dance, I feel like my best self. I can be anything - I can fly! Dance is the way I speak. Dance is the way I express joy. It’s the way I connect with other people. Without dance, I don’t know who I would be. I am passionate about dance, and I want to give it my all.

The Ailey School is the official school of the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. I’m so excited that I will have the opportunity to train with choreographers who have worked with Ailey professionals. I will also have the opportunity to perform at the end of the intensive. 

The program is 5 weeks, from June 24 – July 26.  I am working to raise $7,775.  The tuition is $2,775; housing, food, and transportation for the 5 weeks in New York City will be approximately $5,000.  I am asking you to join forces with me to help me fulfill my dream of dancing at The Ailey School this summer. 

I am raising money at home by working odd jobs and doing a dance showcase.  Along with my parents’ help, our contribution is $1800.

As you can see, I have a big goal and a long way to go, but I believe it’s possible.  Would you consider supporting me financially as I prepare for this summer? Here are a few ways to support this goal:
