Zelda's Facial Feminization Surgery
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Zelda, and I am seeking help to fund facial feminization surgery.
Gender dysphoria has had a negative impact on my mental health. I feel debilitated from socializing too often because I do not feel confident in my appearance, and see characteristics that are not indicative of who I am.
I am looking at facial feminization surgery as a means of dramatically increasing my quality of life. To be able to go out and feel confident in socializing with people. To feel at home and at peace within myself.
What does facial feminization surgery exactly entail? Facial feminization consists of multiple procedures to, well, feminize the face. What procedures are done is at the discretion of the patient and the doctor, and what will best suit the patient's face. Some of the most common elements of facial feminization surgery include: trachea shave (Adam's apple reduction), hairline correction, forehead contouring, and chin and jaw contouring. You can find out more information about facial feminization surgery here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_feminization_surgery
Unfortunately, my insurance provider does not cover the costs associated with facial feminization. This is why I'm turning to GoFundMe. I've tried to do this on my own, but I'm facing the reality that this is not something I can take on by myself.
I hope that I have inspired you with my story. Please don't ever feel like a contribution is too little. Whether it's $1 or $100, I cherish that there are people out there who are capable of helping me and choose to. Every contribution is a contribution to my quality of life, and that is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Any proceeds I receive will be used for funding facial feminization surgery, such as consultation and the procedure itself. If I somehow surpass my goal, I will try to refund the extra amount, or donate it to the National Center for Transgender Equality.
