ZACK RANDALLS MEMORIAL FUND
Zack, 34, was the father of both a 3 year old girl and 4 year old boy, a loving husband of 8 years to his adored wife Katie, and a close and beloved friend to many. His precious life was cut short on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 when he was the victim of a random act of violence and sustained gunshot wounds from a heartless and vicious rampage shooter.
Zack was on his first ride-along in his new position with PG&E when the tragedy occurred, a job he had just recently started and was excited about. It was his first day outside the classroom, and tragically, his last among his loving friends and family.
Zack was a kind, funny, loving man who's charitable ways and good nature made him close to so very many that had the honor to know him. When Zack left his job with his longtime friend Steve to join the team at PG&E, he posted the following to his Facebook page:
"I want to take a minute just to extend my appreciation to everyone around me. I didn't expect all the kind words and encouragement this morning when I posted the picture of the PG&E sign. It helped me with a pretty big adjustment. The hardest part about this was walking out of a shop which I really considered my home because I was with family. I learned so much from the guys, Giovanni, Andy, and even Tanner (I guess lol). These guys took me in and shared their knowledge with me which allowed me to be successful not only for the shop but also for my customers.
I met some people as customers and I walked out of the shop last Friday with a lot more friends I have gained. I had some of the best times with guys like Durell, Andy, Drew, and Mark just to name a small few. I appreciate their patience with me a lot of the time while I tried my best to help them with whatever they needed.
Most importantly I have to give my overwhelming love out to Steven who gave me a shot and was probably more forgiving of my ignorance than he should have been. I never claimed to know everything but I gave the shop everything I had to try and make it successful for him. He's been a big brother to me for over 10 years now and I don't think I can ever really explain what he and his friendship mean to me.
I've walked away from plenty of jobs before but this was the hardest by far because I felt like I was really walking away from a family that had adopted me and welcomed me to a new community.
Much love. Much respect.

I think this shows who Zack was more clearly than any description of him ever could.
Zack's wife Katie is a Madera Unified elementary school teacher and mother of their two small children. With Zack's tragic death, and Katie having the two children to comfort and look after, we want to insure that the devastation to their beautiful family does not extend to the area of finances. We are seeking immediate donations to help this family in their time of need and grief, with all funds under the discretion and control of Katie, to aid in their difficult transition to living without their husand and father.
Please help us return the love to Zack's family that he put out into the world, and show them that through this tragedy they are not alone or forgotten victims, but loved and supported members of this community. Lets fill the void of his abscence with our love, our concern and our assistance.
Please donate any amount you can afford, and know that you are helping a family in their most desperate hour.
Thank you to all for your time and attention.
