Running to educate Kenyan children!

Evans Chunguli is running the Nairobi Standard Chartered Bank Half Marathon on Sunday 25th October to help sponsor children at Sunrise of Africa School Ltd, Kenya! He will also be joined by some teachers/staff members of the school.
Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Mandela was very clear on the importance of education in Africa, to help free themselves from poverty. I had a deep respect for Mandela and what he stood for.
With others, my mother, Corinne Corvin, founded a school, Sunrise of Africa School Ltd, near Nairobi, Kenya, to help lift families out of poverty through education. Many of these children would not be able to attend without our offering them scholarships.
The school is giving these children (and families) an opportunity of a life time and thus a wonderful Kenyan, Evans Chunguli, is going to be running the Nairobi Standard Bank Half Marathon on October 25th to raise much needed funds for us. Every dollar goes directly to helping the children.
Evans has worked in my parents' business for more than 30 years and is now my father's right hand man. He is a trusted and well respected member of our team.
As all my friends know, last year I ran a half marathon to raise money for the children at Sunrise of Africa School. This year, I will pass this privilege over to a much more experienced runner. Evans has run 3 full marathons and 7 half marathons. His timing in one half marathon was one hour 24 minutes!
