Awakening Conference

Five years ago we had a vision; a vison, to awaken and revive the spirit of Somali Youth. Our mission is to celebrate and recognize Somali-Canadian achievements while highlighting specific issues facing our community by creating constructive dialogues. To date, we have covered many topics ranging from youth mental health to education while taking time to acknowledge the many Somali-Canadians doing great things in our community. The annual conference draws between 200-300 people annually and in the last year we have been able to enage many followers on Facebook and Twitter. 

After every conference we struggle to make ends meet so this year we are looking for your support to raise $10,000 dollars to help us cover costs for our annual conference for the next two years. 100% of the money raised will go towards expenses to cover the annual conference for 2016 and 2017. This includes venue, food, printing, poster design, videographer, photographer, and guest speakers accomdation.
