Help the Barnett's

Donation protected
Meet the Barnett Family; they are some of the most important people in my life as well as many others.  Anthony and Katie are two of the most genuine people I have ever met.  They are driven; passionate people and they have dedicated their lives to helping others, human and canine alike!  Please read this and consider helping these people who never ask for help but really need some love and support right now.

The last year has been extremely trying for them, even though you couldn't tell by talking with them. They are very private people and have always handled their business in that manner. They were very hesitant to allow me to start this gofundme, but after talking with them extensively they came to the realization that they are no different from the people they help everyday; they too felt like they do not need assistance and that their were so many other people that were worse of than they were.  However, it often times it takes a caring friend, family memeber or random starnger to offer to help out of the kindness of their own heart before one can reflect on how hard the whole process has been on them.

Anthony has dedicated his life to improving the bond shared between humans and canines.  He is the CEO and founder of a non-profit organization that rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected bully breed dogs.  He has also volunteered his time every week for years to visit veterans, suffering from service related PTSD, with his service pitties!  He is currently in the process of starting another non-profit dedicated to helping veterans and bully dogs rehabilitate along side one another in a safe, secure, low-pressure environment.

Katie is Anthony's wife and an equally amazing person!  She is a highly educated woman with a Juris Doctorate.  However, instead of working her life away trying to gain personal wealth she splits her time as an animal rights attorney and in a non-profit shelter in Kansas City, MO.  Like Anthony, Katie has dedicated her life to the advancement of the human-canine bond and to defend those whom cannot speak for themselves.

Now, about their situation, as you can tell from the above picture the Barnett's have quite the pack!  Within the last year their dogs Beefcake and Bruce Wayne have had their spleens removed due to life threatening tumors.  When Bruce's spleen was removed it revealed a life long blood parasite, which Bruce fought off over a 8 month period with some serious steroids that whittled him down to a shell of his former self.  Beefcake on the other hand, developed an anxiety disorder, which has made it extremely difficult for me to be left alone.  He has trouble recognizing people he once did and gets nervous enough he loses control of his bladder.  Both dogs are now doing better but the memories and bills still remain.

As if that were not enough, Pnut, another one of there rescue dogs, Anthony's first pitty, is now showing some very scary signs and symptoms and no one knows what is going on.  The Doctors have run test after test to no avail, as all the test are normal yet Pnut continues to get worse.  She has deteriorated so quickly they don't know what to do.  Anthony and Katie have turned their life upside down the last week trying to do whatever they can to keep her in a comfortable environment.  Pnut goes in for an MRI soon to try and get some answers but that is just the most recent expense in a laundry list of vet bills and medication cost, not to mention the emotional and mental toll the whole process has taken on them.

I ask that you please help out where you can.  If you cannot donate I understand, but please share this story with your friends and family in the hopes that someone can.  They are truly amazing people, they have helped some many, myself included; I felt a call to action and sense of duty to ask for help! Every little bit helps, no gesture is too small.

Thank you for your time and God Bless.
Aaron and Stephanie
