Medical equipments for rural clinics in Zimbabwe
Donation protected
Zimbabwe is struggling with a chronic social-economic crisis. One of the major effects of this crisis has been providers’ inability to sustain access to a public health delivery system and medical equipment and non-medical equipment is often old or broken down with no spares; much of it requires repair or replacement.
The publicly-supported primary health care (PHC) system in Zimbabwe consists of 1,118 rural health clinics, rural hospitals, and urban polyclinics.
The call is, therefore, to ensure that at the PHC facilities, that are in fact well-staffed, there are adequate tools for the health workers in 10 selected PHC facilities in two provinces of Zimbabwe (Matabeleland North and South).
Requirements per clinic
· Digital thermometer – 30 @ CHF1.50 each (Total = CHF450)
· Sphygmomanometer, Aneroid (mobile) – 5 @ CHF53 each (Total = CHF 2650)
· Accu-Chek mobile kit(Glucose testing machine) 30 @ CHF 59 each (Total = CHF 1770)
WHA is fundraising to help the clinics in Zimbabwe and please donate to help provide basic medical facilities.
