Elle's Wishes
Donation protected
ELLE Grace Morris has 10 wishes to celebrate her 10th birthday on January 29 2016. One of them is to meet X Factor stars Olly Murs and Rita Ora, another is to be a Princess for a Day.
As you read this, she is enjoying wish number 8 – a holiday in Florida courtesy of the starlight charity.
Since she was 15-months-old Elle has suffered from cystic fibrosis. She urgently needs a double lung transplant as her condition has seriously deteriorated throughout this year.
Last month the transplant team at Great Ormond Street Hospital delivered the devastating news that the odds are against the transplant being successful because it carries severe risks.
“We were told to go way and enjoy Christmas and to be reviewed in January but to be prepared for these risks.” explained doting mum Becky, adding: “This young lady, my daughter, has fought this disease. She has always been positive and hopeful, been so courageous and took everything in her stride and smiles constantly."
The 9-year-old Stapeley Broad Lane pupil who lives in Aston, Wrenbury, is on oxygen full time, has four daily nebulised treatments, is on a nightly ventilator, two suspension medications as well as inhalers and a daily cocktail of tablets. Despite this gruelling routine Becky describes her daughter as "bubbly, comical, very outgoing".
In the 24 Hours since the Nantwich Chronicle ran Elles story a group of Mums from Elles school have been busy trying to make Elles Wishes become reality.
So far we have been promised X Factor Final tickets, a recording studio session to record a song and music video and Peckforton Castle have offered their help by being a venue for Elles Princess Brithday Party...we also have offers to do Elles hair and make-up for the big day and Special guests Elsa, Anna and Olaf!
We are so greatful for everyones offers of help, things are shaping up beautifully. However, we understand that all these wishes will come with extra costs such as a hotel room in London, taxi costs a special outfit for her trip to London etc. So while we aim to meet most of Elles Wishes free of charge, we want to have a pot of money for the little bits and bobs of expenses that will arise, without putting extra pressure on the family.
Every single pound will count, so please give as little or as much as you can. We will be eternally greatful for any help to make Elles dreams come true.
Thank you for reading.
