Great North Run For Equal Arts

Howdeey!
My name is Aimee Robertson and I am a recent graduate from Northumbria's Drama & Applied Theatre Degree.
Since a young age I have had a passion drama, not just in the terms of performing but how it can be used as a therapeutic tool to help people.
In my final year of university I stumbled across 'Equal Arts' - A creative ageing charity, predominantly working with older people and people living with dementia with an aim of 'improving the lives of older people through creativity'. I completed my placement with the company and started working as a Trainee Associate Artist in September 2016. I work in 3 care homes and deliver Drama, Dance and Story telling workshops. From working within residential care settings I have seen first hand the positive impact that creativity has on the lives of the residents.
Equal arts provides a safe and social atmosphere where people with dementia can express themselves through creative means e.g. drama, story telling, singing, crafts, dance and movement.
It is so important that we continue to work with older people creatively. So if you have a spare pound (or two) please sponsor me and help us to make a positive change to the lives of older people living with dementia.
Creativity is contagious and has no age!
Thankyou x
