Beaumont Health - South Tower Pediatrics
For this year’s charitable project, we wanted to change up the program a bit. As such we thought it would be a wonderful idea to team with one of our key customers responsible for making Shaw who we are today.
Therefore, we have decided to team with Beaumont Health on the Royal Oak campus in an effort to assist them in making the pediatric floor of the South Tower a little brighter for the children who are required to stay on the floor.
As some of you may know, the South Tower project, which opened in 2004, was the largest project Shaw had ever undertaken. It was also our first major design/assist project. From a company prospective, that project helped launch Shaw to becoming a leading electrical contractor in our area.
As it has been 14 years since the South Tower pediatric floor opened, you can imagine the children’s area has undergone some wear and tear. One specific issue is the flat screen monitors in the Atrium area are not working properly, which means the kids are unable to use this area for its intended purpose.
Project Goal:
Our goal is to upgrade the wiring and screens so that the pediatric patients can utilize this equipment to its fullest. In making the TV screens operational, we hope to make the children’s stay a little more enjoyable by providing a much-needed distraction from their illness and alleviating some stress and anxiety.
I’m sure we can all understand the incredible difficulty of having a loved one in the hospital, let alone a child who is hospitalized. And so, during this holiday season, I’m asking that each of you please give some consideration to donating to this wonderful project. What greater joy is there in knowing we at Shaw can help put smiles on the faces of the children on the South Tower pediatric floor!
Once the project is complete, we will update everyone with before and after photos so that TOGETHER we can see the results of our generosity.
Details:
We have put together a GoFundMe page that you may contribute directly to. Each participant will be given a ticket for every $5 donated. During our holiday party on Friday, December 21st, we will once again have gifts that will be raffled off for the participants that were kind enough to participate. The person that donates the most will be given the opportunity to draw the first prize off the tree. Please note that you must be present to win. Tickets will be available for purchase by cash or check at the holiday party. Please see the following link to the GoFundMe page:
