We are raising funds for the Camp Fire Relief Efforts

Angels Among Us is a Philanthropic group that was formed in 1991.

We began helping  Camp Fire victims and survivors on 9 November 2018.   I am a U.S. Army Veteran. I have worked as a firefighter and government contractor for USDA, DOI, CDF, and BLM over the course of a few decades.  I worked in logistics. As soon as I realized the scope of the fire, I put my logistics skills to use and formed a ground support team consisting of a pool of 14 drivers in Quincy, Ca. We have been working out of my home as our command center ever since. I organized a caravan of several friends with different skill sets to help in Chico. We had retired nurses from Sacramento, EMT's from the bay area, Caregivers from Oregon, Vet Techs and various other friends of different backgrounds who just wanted to help and make a difference.

We had many survivors return home to Plumas and Lassen counties. We began collecting and distributing what was needed.  We handed out cash and food. We helped survivors find places to stay, including hotels in Reno, motels in Tahoe, Grass Valley, and all along the I-80 corridor. We also found places in the Susanville area as well as Chester, and places along the Highway 89/70 corridor. We helped people get to Los Molinos, Red Bluff and Redding, as well as Yuba City and Orland.

We went where we were needed and began donating. One of our first stops was the Walmart parking lot.  Miss Judith was instrumental in sending photos and video so we could get a good sense of what resources were on the ground at that time. We met a lot of wonderful people who needed a lot of help.  We are still in touch with many of those people today. We are honored to call them our friends.

Daily we try to secure resources as more and more residents return and more resources are needed. Everything from the basics of everyday survival, such as water and food, to helping  care for animals that haven't yet found their humans.

We are seeing a great need for families wanting to relocate out of the area, since California as a whole can not absorb 32,000 families. They need funds for renting U-Hauls, Gas, Food, Deposits, and first months rents. Some have jobs and housing waiting without the needed fuel to get there.  Please help us help them.

Our hope is that with the help and contributions from our friends and family, that we will  find the funding to continue to help our survivors as the months and years pass.  The road to recovery is a long road ahead to be sure. But we are in this for the long haul.

The road to recovery is not a sprint, it will be a very long marathon.  Please consider helping Us so we may help others.
