Appalachian Lives Matter

Our fundraising campaign, Appalachian Lives Matter, has now ended, and I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart everyone who contributed donations, as well as those who shared our cause with others.

Thanks to your efforts, we raised $14,285 via 342 donations to contribute to Dolly Parton's My People Fund, which has pledged $1,000/month to families displaced by the wildfires in the Smoky Mountains/Southern Appalachians.

By my back-of-the-envelope calculations, after GoFundMe's and their payment processor's fees (7.9% + $0.30 per donation), Dolly's My People Fund will receive $13,054. This is enough to cover 4 families for the 3 upcoming winter months, with extra to spare. None of this would have been possible without your support!
