Matiullah Khan is 38 years old and currently suffering from a severe kidney disease, which is permanently damaged. He is living in Afghanistan, and he needs an urgent transplant to cure, as doctors at Afghan Arya Hospital in Herat, Afghanistan have determined that he urgently needs an operation.

Matiullah is a shopkeeper by profession and is a father of six children (four daughters name Uzma, Meena, Hamra, and Najwa, and two sons named Bahar, and Mohammad) and a caring husband.

Before facing kidney disease he was the sole earner of his family and his siblings, but now Matiullah has been unemployed for the past year. During this time, he is focusing on his medical treatment by visiting different hospitals. Additionally, he and his family sold their family land to gather the necessary funds for the life-saving procedure, which is a total amont of 346,000 Afn, which is 5,000 USD Dollar. However, he further needs 7000 USD Dollar for the procedure.

One of his relatives and his wife have bravely volunteered to donate their kidney to save Matiullah’s life. However, the cost of the surgery and associated medical expenses are beyond the family's financial means.

Doctors recommend that the surgery be conducted with in one week, and any delay could result in the loss of his life, leaving his children without a father and eliminating the dreams of a man who dedicated his life to have a bright future for his kids.

Emergency Relief Floods Victims of Baghlan Provinces.

Baghlan province, a province in northeastern Afghanistan, experienced severe flooding that resulted in the destruction of homes. The floods caused immense suffering and devastation, leaving a significant number of casualties. Numerous individuals, including men, women, and children, lost their lives, while many others sustained severe injuries. The gravity of the situation is evident from reports shared by authorities and on social media. It is suspected that those who are still missing might be trapped beneath the debris of collapsed houses or buried under the mud after being swept away.

In response to this catastrophic event, Afghan Relief has initiated a campaign aimed at providing immediate relief and necessary resources to those who have been directly impacted by the flash floods. Hello everyone, my name is Dr. Karim Bayanzay and I am an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. I am also an Afghan refugee and recently a father of a sick child in my village reached out to me regarding his sick child. Today, I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea to help me save the life of a young boy in Afghanistan who suffers from a rare and deadly blood disorder.

Khalid Imran is an 11-year-old boy who lives in a remote village in Afghanistan, Lal Pura, near Jalabad. He has thalassemia, a genetic condition that prevents his body from making enough healthy red blood cells. He needs regular blood transfusions to survive, but they are hard to come by in his area. Due to multiple transfusion he is now at risk of iron overload, which can damage his liver. He also contracted hepatitis C from contaminated blood. His older brother died from complications from the same disease a few years ago.

The only hope for Khalid is a bone marrow transplant, which can potentially cure his condition and give him a chance at a normal life. I have been coordinating closely with the Cure 2 Children organization and Dr. Aliya Batool, a Consultant Hematologist at Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital in Islamabad to arrange for a bone marrow transplant. After extensive testing, we have identified his younger 9-year-old brother, Ahmed Imran as a 100% match. This is exciting news, however, bone marrow transplants are complex and expensive. The treatment requires the removal of all his immune cells, which increases his risk for infection. He also needs to take medications to prevent his body from rejecting the new bone marrow. Due to the complexity of the treatments, his family is required to relocate for 1 year to Islamabad. Khalid's father is an elementary school teacher in a remote village in Afghanistan. Due to the recent political changes, his income has been slashed considerably and there is no way for him to afford such treatment. The bone marrow transplant itself costs $10,000 - $12,000 (2,800,000 to 3,000,000 PKR). However, he will require post-transplant medications and may also need money in case of complications, so we are asking for an additional $8,000. Therefore, we are raising a total of $20,000. The $12,000 will be sent directly to the Dr. Akbar Niazi Hospital and the remainder will be sent to the family to cover their travel costs, costs of living in Islamabad for 1 year, post-transplant medication and the remainder to save in case of any complications requiring further hospitalization.

The collapse of the Afghan government and the swift Taliban takeover shocked the international community, leading to widespread chaos and a mass evacuation of Afghans and foreign nationals

Currently, Afghanistan is experiencing one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. With the Taliban's strict rule, essential services such as healthcare and education have deteriorated, especially for women and girls who face severe restrictions. The country has severe food insecurity, economically collapsed, and a health crisis exacerbated by sanctions and the cessation of foreign aid. Millions of Afghans are at risk of starvation, and the healthcare system is on the verge of collapse with a lack of supplies and poor healthcare.
