Boise Hive

We purchased our building in 2019. The roof has been leaking for a few years and now needs to be entirely replaced. We have tried to get by with patching but the leaking continues to get worse. We need to put a new roof on the building before winter hits this year. 

The cost of the new roof will be approximately $30,000. We need to raise $15,000 from this GOFUNDME campaign. Our community has been very generous with donations for The Boise Hive and helped us throughout the years. Please help us now to RAISE THE ROOF at the Hive, and ensure that we can maintain and expand our programs and services for the community. 

The Boise Hive is a non-profit musician’s resource center that serves the Treasure Valley area. We provide inexpensive practice studios, a recording studio, live streamed concerts, and a food pantry. More importantly, we are committed to suicide prevention, providing mental health services such as counseling and referrals, and veteran’s music outreach. We continue to expand these programs to benefit those who love music in our community.

In 2013, a small group of musicians founded the Boise Hive with a mission to prevent suicide in the Boise area music community. Over the last seven years, the Hive has purchased our own building and become  a successful, volunteer run non-profit. We are a safe and sober musicians resource, providing mental health support, free online counseling, inexpensive practice space and welcoming performance space.

Almost all of our fundraising efforts are centered around live music events, but all of these events have been postponed or cancelled this year due to COVID-19.  Performance opportunities are down, need for rehearsal space is down and our normal revenue is down 70% since March.

Without the funds to keep this space open, our role as a music community center connecting musicians to the resources they need is in jeopardy. We don’t want to lose the Boise hive, especially in the midst of the additional stresses due to COVID-19.

The Boise Hive needs your help to get through this!

We need to raise $7,500 to continue the Hive’s mission to prevent suicide.

*Providing online counseling to musicians in need
*Live streaming and promoting three to four acts in our bi-weekly show Live@The Hive (Facebook, Youtube, Twitch, Twitter and Periscope)
*Incorporating our mission to prevent suicide into Live@The Hive
*Hosting two interns from BSU, both pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Social Work
*Hosting the re-started Jam-It-Out program every Friday 6-9PM for veterans
*Renewing focus on mental health and well-being because we ALL acknowledge the additional stress caused by COVID-19
