Building Men in Uganda: Celebrating 12 Years!
Will You Help Me And The Orphans Of Bringing Hope To The Family?
Building Men In Uganda
Building Men In Uganda
12 years ago I traveled to a small rural village in Uganda...and I went back every year for 10 years to help Build Men. The pandemic stopped me from visiting these last two years and the school had to shut down for awhile. But they are opening up again on November 1 and they need our help.
God's Inexhaustible Love
God's Inexhaustible Love
I work with teenagers in the vocational school. When I started there were just 15 orphan boys and me. At our last get together the school had grown to 40 boys and 65 girls! Plus there were 20 alumni who came back to visit me. We have really made a difference over the past 12 years! The school has grown by leaps and bounds but my mission stays the same--to let them know that they are loved.
Here is a recent article I wrote about my work with the orphanage: Is My God Too Small?

You Know My Name?
A few years ago I arrived at the school and greeted one of the boys I knew by giving him a hug, smiling and saying "Hi Lawrence!" A strange look passed over his face and he said, "You know my name?" What could be more important to an orphan than knowing that someone knows his name. And that someone loves him.
What Are You Contributing To?
Bringing Hope To The Family runs an orphanage, a primary school, a medical clinic, a vocational school and more in a small impoverished rural village. But my focus is solely on the vocational school. Kids whose parents have died and who have dropped out of school get a second chance at the vocational school. It is a boarding school where they all learn agriculture. The boys also learn carpentry and bricklaying. The girls learn hair dressing and sewing. These are real skills that they can use to make a living, feed themselves and sustain themselves as adults.

Purpose
I did not know it would happen but my work with the orphans has given me purpose in life. Helping to build the school and to raise the money to hire teachers and educate students has become a passion of mine. While I have enjoyed building a successful real estate law firm, nothing fills me with as much joy as watching these boys become men (and now girls become women). The orphanage and the orphans don't have the money to pay for school but I have made it my mission to keep this school going and growing. Every year I help pay their expenses. And every other year I ask you to help.
As I get ready for my next visit to the orphanage, I want to 10X my impact by going out on a limb and stretching my giving. I want to change more lives. I want to build more men.
Will You Give?
I hope I can ask you a favor: will you consider 10Xing your giving. Dream big. You are making a huge impact! Thank you!
I want to be bold and ask you to give $1,000.
$1,000 will support the students, help the school buy supplies and equipment, improve the campus and help me achieve my goal of helping to build great men and women!
$500 will support a student for a year in the vocational school--boarding, food, uniform, supplies and more.
$250 will support a student for a semester.
