Bubbles Dog Rescue

Our darling girl, Ella, is as sweet and affectionate as a Bubbles baby can be. She loves people so much and is even great with kids! But she doesn't seem to have been properly socialized with other dogs when she was young. It makes sense- Ella was kept in a backyard and ignored prior to being dumped at the shelter by her "family". We want to give her the attention and care she always deserved by sending her to training in Oregon! She is smart and a quick learner- she just needs someone to show her the ropes. In previous training assessments, our trainer agreed that she has the capacity to be good with other dogs if given some guidance. But training is not free unfortunately so we need your support! We pull dogs off the euthanasia lists throughout California, provide full vetting and medical care, a foster home and carefully find and vet forever homes for these lovely, incredible and neglected dogs. Sherlock needs surgery on both of his ACLs! Here he is in his little stroller that he needs now for long walks because of the pain. He looks adorable but we want him to be able to walk pain-free on those long walks!

We noticed our sweet boy Sherlock- of bonded pair Sherlock and Watson- was limping and dragging his little foot a bit so we made an appointment and brought him in to the vet. In the first set of X-rays, it revealed massive amounts of inflammation in both knees. He was treated with carprofen to reduce the inflammation and came back two weeks later for a second set of X-rays. The carprofen worked to reduce the inflammation but with the inflammation gone, we were able to clearly see that Sherlock had in fact torn both ACLs. He is only two years old and surgery is the recommended course of treatment, especially since he is still young. He has many years left in his life and we want him to be able to spend them running free- not hindered by his knees.
