Burke Tennis Club

The Burke Tennis Club has 3 main goals:

The money raised will go to subsidize 10 tennis tournament events held in 2024, every tournament we operate is done so at a loss, they are possible only due to dedicated volunteers and donations from community members. In 2024 our cost structure, based on our 2023 experience is $770 per tournament with only $100 generally received from participants, this allows us to offer verified competitive tennis opportunities at over 75% from all other tennis providers.

We have already completed 10 tournaments, and 4 match play events. This resulted in over 424 matches in the past 12 months (2023) with over 243 players registered, with an average savings of 75% ($17) vs traditional tournaments ($75), we delivered:

Via our effort to provide official high school ratings for Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria Public Schools:

Our total contribution to our community in 2023 has been a total of $49,000!

The Burke Tennis Club, a registered 501c3, has three main goals:

1.) Bring affordable rated/verified tennis to our immediate community, reducing all costs/driving/scheduling barriers, ultimately making competition more equitable and accessible

2.) Reduce the carbon footprint of tennis competitions, keeping competition local, no need to drive 1.5-2 hours for the equivalent amount or less of actual tennis playtime

3.) Bring the FREE Universal Tennis Rating to all FCPS Tennis programs so that more students get access to FREE verified tennis and build competitive profiles that may lead to scholarships.
