Eagles Fans is fundraising
Support LA: Eagles Fans Unite for Wildfire Relief
Now that we know the Rams are our opponent and obviously LA is dealing with some seriously crazy stuff right now, I thought it might be nice ahead of the game to offer some help and support LA's way from birds fans (and especially after that horrible fan made life miserable for an opposing Packers fan and went viral for it). This fund is organized by Eagles fans in the Philadelphia area and beyond to benefit the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Relief Fund.

We're still gonna kick the Rams' butts, but there's plenty of people in and around LA (Rams and birds' fans alike) that could use some help right now. I know a lot of the attention is going towards celebrities but there are plenty of everyday people who have lost a lot during this and are risking life and limb to help others.

Note from mom and dad: The idea for this fundraiser was created solely by Oliver and Maya after they learned of the wildfires in California (we’re just helping with the logistics!). They immediately wanted to help the displaced families, and after emptying their piggy banks, decided they wanted to do more. We reviewed lists of charities and organizations to be sure that our donations will best reach those in need. Additionally, if any kiddos want to send cards to the firefighters, please reach out. Our team at UCLA Radio recognizes the tremendous impacts of the Los Angeles fires, having greatly devastated the vast communities both within and around our UCLA community.

Please join us in supporting recovery and relief for families from UCLA and the surrounding LA area — we are directing funds to CalFund, a nonprofit organization providing essential recovery efforts, housing, case management, mental health, and medical care for displaced residents. It also aids in rebuilding essential infrastructure like emergency communication systems and offers financial disaster assistance, labor law education, and immigration services to low-wage workers and immigrant families.

LA Wildfires: Support Recovery Efforts
As many know, Los Angeles is experiencing devastating wildfires right now that are being exacerbated by aggressive Santa Ana winds. The Palisades fire, along with the Eaton and Hurst fires, have already wrought unimaginable destruction across thousands of acres. Homes and businesses have been lost, families have been displaced, and countless lives have been disrupted.

As many may also be aware, our founding partner Jason Lahita is based in Brentwood, near the border of the Palisades fire. Though we are pleased to report that Jason and his family are currently safe, countless others in surrounding communities have lost their homes and sense of security. It is in the spirit of support and solidarity that StreetCred PR felt moved to take action.

To that end, StreetCred PR has set up this fundraiser to support those impacted by this devastating natural disaster. All funds will be donated to the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund, aimed at aiding critical recovery efforts. These initiatives run the gamut from rebuilding homes and restoring belongings to providing mental health services, financial assistance and case management for those affected. They also seek to strengthen community infrastructure, helping organizations upgrade 2-1-1 information systems, enhance first responder safety equipment and expand access to medical care and essential supplies.

The recent Los Angeles wildfires have devastated countless communities, forcing residents to evacuate their homes leaving behind everything they have worked so hard to build. Families are left with no choice but to leave their homes and cherished memories, uncertain whether or not they will come back to ashes. Among the families that were displaced is the Morales family who were forced to flee their home with just the clothes they were wearing and a small bag, leaving behind precious memories and pictures. Upon their return, almost everything they owned was destroyed in the Eaton fire.

Tragically, there are many more stories like these where families are left to rebuild their lives from the ground up. Throughout this destruction, hope can still be found and that can start with us. Let’s come together as a community to help provide disaster relief to those who need it.

These donations will go directly to The California Community Foundation, specifically helping families affected by the fire with basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, and long-term support for rebuilding homes. While the disaster might seem too large to make an impact, every contribution, no matter how small, is one step closer to healing for the LA community. Their disaster response and recovery initiatives offer essential services such as housing, case management, mental health support, and medical care for individuals displaced by these events.
