My name is Amanda Bosses, and I grow my hair solely for donation purposes. This year, I donated my hair for the sixth time, with my biggest chop yet at 16 inches, bringing my total donated hair to 64 inches.
Since my last donation in 2021, I've wanted to do more for the organization besides growing out my hair for two years. I want to get more people involved and spread awareness for this organization's work.
I set up this fundraiser to raise awareness not only of how people lose their hair (cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, etc.) but also for the work that Children with Hair Loss do to provide real hair wigs for people who cannot afford them.
I love to celebrate the work of this non-profit and would love your help to fund a wig for one of these kids in a time of need. Any donations, whether for hair or money, are greatly appreciated. If you want to donate money, please use the GoFundMe page or my Venmo (@b0sses)
And if you cannot donate hair or money, spreading awareness about the hair donation process via word of mouth is highly encouraged to friends and family who are considering chopping as well :)

My name is Amanda Bosses, I grow my hair solely for donation purposes, and this year will be my 6th time donating.
I was very young the first time I donated my hair (4-5 years old). I've always thought about doing it again, especially in middle school, when brainstorming an idea for a community service project in 7th grade. However, I only got around to the chop in my freshman year of high school, April of 2017. I cut off 8 inches and continued doing so each year after (2017, 2018, and 2019). Covid hit right before my haircut in 2020, so I decided to grow out my hair for two years and donate a longer amount of hair since that is what Children with Hair Loss prefer. The last time I donated my hair, I cut off 12 inches in March 2021. It has been two years since, and I planned on cutting off a minimum of 12 inches again. I exceeded my goal by cutting off and donating 16 inches.

More information about Children With Hair Loss, Inc: Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) is a non-profit organization providing human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. When a child's hair is lost due to cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, etc., the painful effects are far deeper than cosmetic. The cost to provide these services is up to $3,000 per child, and a wig and care kit costs around $1,500 per child. Thanks to the many donors and volunteers, CWHL is able to maintain its pledge that no child will ever pay for hair replacement.
