Cottonwood PTO

This year the PTO Fundraising is going to look a LOT different than our previous years.  While I know we all love the Non-A-Thon, this year we are going in a different direction.  We understand that everyone in our community has felt the effects of COVID in one way or another.  We want to keep that in mind while trying to accomplish our goal.  This year, there will not be a huge monetary goal that gets dispersed among various different entities.  This year we have one specific goal our funds will be going towards.  


 Mrs. Rooks would like to have a walking path installed around the playground for the students to enjoy.  Think what a blessing it will be for everyone at Cottonwood to have this extra space outside!  (ESPECIALLY this year!)  This will allow for a more functional space for our students to socially distance, while chatting with friends and getting exercise in the process!  It will also allow for students in wheelchairs to have more access around the playground!  How amazing will this be!?  I have attached an architectural rendering so you can see  the project!  


Last year, the PTO started setting aside funds to help assist with this project.  Our plan was for a portion of the Non-A-Thon proceeds raised this year would cover the rest of the cost.   Well, instead of trying to hit a $20,000.00 Non-A-Thon goal, we are simply wanting to try and finish raising the funds to cover the cost of the walking path! 


 We only need to raise $6,500.00  to make this project a reality!   


SO HERE IS WHERE YOU COME IN!!!   We NEED your help to spread the word to all your family and friends.  Every dollar raised is a dollar towards our kids having more fun on the playground!  We have a Go Fund Me account set up to make donations even easier!  OF COURSE we will still take cash or checks too!  There will be no extra incentives for students this year as social distancing makes it difficult to do so.  We are just simply asking those who are in a position to donate even $5.00 to do so!  Every penny adds up and makes a difference!

It’s that time of year again!  The Cottonwood Elementary PTO fundraising committee is gearing up for our "Non-A-Thon"!

 We are NOT going to ask you to bake, order, sell or run for funds.  We are just going to ask for it!

The “Non-A-Thon” is the Cottonwood PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year.  This allows us to help provide our school, the teachers, the staff and most importantly our children with the resources needed to assist in their education. 

YOUR donations over the last 3 years have been imperative to our students being able to keep our Accelerated Reading program!  PTO funds this program 100% and ALL of the students at Cottonwood learn from it!

As stated last couple of years, reading is the foundation of ALL learning and Cottonwood uses the AR (Accelerated Reader) program to help motivate the kids on their road to success.    On average, the cost per student for AR is $12.00.    It is imperative that we do everything possible to keep AR as the benefits our children receive are immeasurable.  The last 3 years the CES PTO has been able to fund AR because of everyone's efforts!!  Let's keep it going and have our best year yet!

This year, because of everyone's donations, we added a new online resources and applications that directly benefit our Teachers AND the STUDENTS!!!  These online programs cost upwards of $5,000.00 so our fundraising to keep these programs is an absolute!  Let's continue the momentum!
