Cultural Capital Haiti

The women of rural Haiti are taking their economic security into their own hands. Despite all the adversity facing the country today, you can be part of this story of success!

In an out-of-the-way corner of Haiti, the Women's Association of Lafon (AFL) has created an innovative and wildly successful micro-credit initiative to lift themselves out of poverty. Now they are partnering with Cultural Capital Haiti and the Haitian Education & Leadership Program (HELP) to host 7 female economics graduates from Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince for a summer internship where they will assist in expanding the program.

This fundraiser will cover expenses for hosting these interns at AFL's campus in Lafon for the entire summer, as well as the purchase of necessary furniture, which will have the add-on benefit of increasing AFL's capacity as a women's crisis shelter in the future.

The approximate cost breakdown is as follows:

• Food: $1500

• Bunk beds: $2500

• Bedding: $300

• Misc. expenses: $200
