Dance Fairies

Hi! My name is Lena. I conducting a dance clothing collection for Dance Fairies, an organization which provides dance clothing and costumes to dancers who otherwise would not have access to these magical assets of the dance experience!

I am the founder of the Peanuts and Pointe Shoes Project, a project in my community geared towards providing a relevant nutritional advice outlet for dancers and dance trainees in my area. I hope, though this project, to address the issue of disordered eating in the dance world as well as provide information about and aid in the solving of the issue of food insecurity in my area.

As part of my project, I felt that it was important to address another vital component of the field of dance: the fact that every person has the right to be able to dance, and thus every person should have access to proper dance attire. The fact that there are people in the world who want so badly to dance, and yet do not have the ability to obtain the needed attire, breaks my heart. I have never had issues with buying a new pair of pointe shoes or purchasing a new leotard to replace an old one, so, in my humble opinion, why should anyone face these issues?

That is why I am starting a dance clothing collection for Dance Fairies as part of my Peanuts and Pointe Shoes project! Unfortunately, shipping costs remain their number one expense and the most limiting factor in their ability to deliver dance costumes to children in the United States and globally. For this reason, they kindly ask all their donors who are donating their dance attire to consider making a small monetary donation to cover that shipping cost. It costs around $4 per pound to ship internationally, and even shipping to the schools here in the US is almost the same price. If you could please be so kind as to help Dance Fairies with that through donating to this GoFundMe, it would allow them to get those costumes which are donated faster into the hands of children anxiously waiting for them. This would be greatly appreciated by both us here at Peanuts and Pointe Shoes and by Dance Fairies!

Any donation helps share the love of dance and the magic of dance! The total goal is $400. The OCSA chapter of The National Honors Society for Dance Arts, is excited to partner with Dance Fairies! Dance Fairies is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that collects gently used and new dance wear, including costumes and shoes of all kinds, and donates them to aspiring dancers in need around the world.

We are excited to partner with Dance Fairies on this important mission. Part of our role as a support partner for Dance Fairies is to raise funds that will be used to ship the dance costumes to the aspiring dancers. Dance Fairies recommends a donation of $5 for each dance costume or pair of shoes in order to cover the cost of shipping. Dance Fairies is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes dance costumes, shoes, and clothes to dancers all around the world. They are dedicated to making sure no child has barriers that prevent them from pursuing their love of dance.

After numerous hours of dance lessons, rehearsals, and hard work, all dancers get a feeling of pride when they finally get a chance to put on their beautiful costume, step on the stage, and perform their routine. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to have proper dance attire and beautiful costumes to perform in. That is where Dance Fairies comes in! They share a love for dance and bring that magic moment into the life of children who may otherwise never have a costume of their own.

Dance Fairies has been very blessed with generous donations of beautiful costumes and dancewear from around the world, but, unfortunately, shipping costs remain their number one expense and the most limiting factor in their ability to deliver dance costumes to children around the United States and the world. It costs around $3 per pound to ship internationally, and even shipping to the schools here in the US is almost the same price.

I am graciously asking for any amount you feel comfortable giving to be donated to the Dance Fairies organization in order to allow them to get those costumes faster into the hands of children anxiously waiting for them. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

Hi! We are Raising the Barre, Betsy Daily's community outreach group. As you may know, we have organized a "Color Wars" event to help raise money for Dance Fairies (check your emails for team assignments!!). Dance Fairies is a non-profit organization created by young dancers dedicated to supporting dance studios in need around the world. As dancers, we understand how dance brings joy and meaning to so many and we want to able to spread this joy of dance to others.

Hello, my name is Zoey. Ever since I was little, I have always loved to dance. My Mitzvah project is raising money for a non-profit company called Dance Faries. This money goes to kids who can't afford dance costumes/dance cloths and need some of their own. This is important to me because I love helping people in need, especially when it comes to dance. Even though I am donating to people I don't even know, it still makes me feel good when I help people in need, because I love making other people happy.
