Epilepsy Foundation

Hi everyone! The Neuro Networks Club at Wayland High School is fundraising to support those living with epilepsy. The foundation works to improve the lives of people living with epilepsy by creating new therapies and doing further epilepsy research. Make a contribution to help increase the donation size we give!

Our 9-year-old son Nate was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. As a parent, it is so scary to see your child go through something you have no control over. We try our best to protect our children and when we can’t we feel hopeless. We know there are many more people going through the same thing and would like to do our part.

We are raising funds to go directly towards epilepsy research. All proceeds will go to the Epilepsy Foundation.

My name is Colby Kreger and I’ve struggled with epilepsy since I was 12. I want to provide the funds for more research and treatments for epilepsy. I believe there are so many more options that aren’t yet found. If we reach the goal, don’t be afraid to keep donating!

Here’s to turning 23 and (hopefully) my first year of a future with no more seizures!

On February 19, 2024, we lost my brother, Matthew Breton, in a car accident. In honor of his memory, my husband Zach and I are running the Maine Half Marathon on October 6th, 2024, the week before what would have been his 34th birthday. While I am an “experienced” half marathoner, this will be Zach’s first. Matt was diagnosed with a seizure disorder in 2017, so we are honoring his memory and his birthday by raising funds for the Epilepsy Foundation. Any and all donations are much appreciated!

This year, in loving memory of my younger sister Shravya, I am raising money for the Epilepsy Foundation. My sister Shravya suffered from severe epilepsy for seven years before unfortunately passing away five years ago today. Any donation will help make an impact. November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. As you know, and some may not know, our little man, Bryce Anthony Sebastian was diagnosed with Epilepsy back in October of 2022 at 4 months old. Since then he has had over 25 seizures. Some minor (lasting 5-10 minutes) and a hand full more serious (over 30 minutes). Monica and I have gone through so much this last year just worrying about Bryce and if and when there will be a next seizure. Thankfully, he has no signs of development issues and has hit every milestone according to his pediatrician. We are not raising money for personal use, but to donate to charity to raise awareness and to hopefully help other parents going through the same things we are. We don’t know what causes them or why as we are still going through many medications and testing, but we know he is strong and gets through them. Please help us raise this money for a good cause so we can help others get through this.

I'm Sara Staggs, and I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 18-months-old. Somehow, I managed to become a lawyer, a writer, a mother, and a wife, but seizures still get in my way. They are a part of my daily life - even if I don't have a seizure, I have to worry about whether I am too tired or too stressed or have exercised too much. Do I have enough medication to get me through the week? And if I do have a seizure, one of the amazing people in the cover photo has to step up to make sure I am safe.

My seizures have improved the past few years, thanks to some extraordinary neurologists and neurosurgeons, but the techniques and surgeries that those doctors used were only available because of years of research, and THAT is where you come in.

The funds you give to the American Epilepsy Foundation will go to research, education, and advocacy for people with epilepsy. Your money will help us all live our best lives.
