Our mission at SMath Tutors is to promote the education of students around the nation through quality, online instruction. SMath Tutors places a strong emphasis on aiding underprivileged students without the necessary resources to obtain a proper education. In the future, we hope to act as a catalyst for STEM education throughout North Carolina and the nation, and wish to inspire other schools to start programs like ours.


As the pandemic continues, we wish to spotlight the extra academic stress that students have been placed under this year, and not only supplement the information they feel they might not have properly understood this year, but also better improve and prepare them for the next school year. Beyond this, we would love to introduce young learners to topics they may develop a strong passion for! Our goal is to raise money to fund COVID-19 relief through our tutoring services, and all profits will go directly towards the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The mission of the Food Bank is to “Nourish people. Build solutions. Empower communities.”, one that we especially believe is important in light of the struggles that the pandemic has caused for all communities.


If possible, please do consider either donating or taking our courses to fund COVID-19 relief. However, we understand that many students will not be able to pay for our services due to the additional financial burdens created by COVID-19, and we would still like to provide those students with an opportunity to obtain academic assistance. Prior to the pandemic, 14% of the population of Wake County was considered “food insecure.” Across North Carolina, the number of food insecure families has only increased, and food banks are experiencing explosive demand as the pandemic continues. It is estimated that over 100,000 children living in the Raleigh area are currently facing hunger.

The Rainbow Rollers, our little Boylan pre-school/kindergarten pod school, would like to do something about that. In conjunction with a lesson on family food insecurity, we are collecting donations to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. For those that are local, in exchange for your donation of $20 or more, you will receive a surprise Valentine’s Day gift on your porch from the Rainbow Rollers classroom.

This holiday season, our cul-de-sac crew wanted to do something to support those who were most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. When we found out the number of families in North Carolina going hungry has increased by 38%, we wanted to help! That’s why we’re collecting food and monetary donations for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. We’re calling it Operation Jingle Bells!

This is a great local organization that was recently named 2020 Food Bank of the Year by Feeding America. From March through June, they spent more than 2X their annual food budget supporting families in need. They continue to see much higher demand than usual, and they need the help of communities like ours throughout North Carolina to meet it.

This is where we come in! We would appreciate it if you would clean out your pantry and leave your donations on your porch for contactless pick-up by Sunday, December 20th. Just PM Brandi Mayes (one of our moms) through Facebook and this jolly bunch of elves will swing by to pick it up.

The most needed items include: Canned fruits and veggies, canned meat, canned beans and soup, cereal, whole grain pasta and rice, peanut butter, hygiene items, household items, paper products. For infants and children we are collecting diapers, wipes, Pedialyte, infant cereal, fruit cups, granola bars, mac n cheese cups, crackers and juice boxes. For seniors we are collecting nutritional shakes and drinks and adult hygiene products. 

If you would prefer to make a monetary contribution, you can do so through the above link. Our group will match donations up to $1,000, and the Food Bank will also be matching all donations through December 31. This means for every $1 you donate, $4 (or about 20 meals) goes to families in need.

Hey Mid South Club neighbors and friends! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 6th annual "Stuff the Truck" event will be done in a virtual format via GoFundMe this year. In lieu of canned goods and other foodstuff usually being dropped off at our donation site near the MSC front gate, we're raising money this year to benefit the FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL & EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA, INC. Any monetary donation you give will help make an impact to those less fortunate within Southern Pines and beyond.

Here are some examples as to how far your dollar donations will go:

- A $35.00 donation will provide 175 nutritious meals.

- A $60.00 donation will provide 300 nutritious meals.

- A $120.00 donation will provide 600 nutritious meals.

- A $200.00 donation will provide 1,000 nutritious meals.

Michael Cotten (Southern Pines Food Bank Branch Director) shared with us that the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina was selected as this year's Feeding America Food Bank Member of the Year at the Feeding America Leadership Conference he recently attended. 

The year 2020 has been a year like no other on so many fronts; unsettled times for so many. The time has come for this great community of ours to step up and give back like we have done in years past. Let's make this holiday season a special one...especially to those who live with hunger or food insecurity as their constant companion.  Like anything else in life, you get what you give.
